Ibrahim Yousuf has executive responsibility for the operations of Tangy Drinks, the third largest soft drink producer in Zambia behind Coca-Cola and Pepsi Co.
The company was founded in 1996 after Ibrahim was inspired by his father to start the venture. Production began in the backyard of the family home in Lusaka, with drinks being bottled and packed by hand. The business has grown dramatically since inception, and now operates in Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, and Angola, employing over 2,000 people.
Ibrahim is spearheading MBI Group’s expansion into the extractive industries, thanks to his extensive knowledge of the mining sector. The business is rapidly developing its exploration capacity, with a specific focus on copper, gold, cobalt, and other precious metal mining in Zambia.
